interestingly interactive
A combination of yoga for you, yoga for your baby and plenty of interactive yoga between you both. This keeps babies interested and entertained and is a blissful way for you to bond with each other.

Emotionally uplifting
Taking this time for yourself also brings healing calmness and relaxation into your busy week, giving you guided moments of peace, and a lighter brighter feeling that you will take from the yoga class into your daily life.

strengthening and healing
Postnatal yoga helps you heal after pregnancy and birth. It is a safe way to realign your posture, and rebuild the health, flexibility and strength of your core and pelvic floor. All exercises are safe for prolapse and diastases recti (separation of the abdominal muscles).

beneficial for babies
Baby yoga promotes babies’ brain development, coordination skills, visual development and even language skills! It is also soothing, helping with their digestion and improving their sleep patterns. You will get lots of ‘take home’ techniques to use to help settle, soothe and entertain your baby outside of the class!

Mum & Baby Yoga FAQS
What age babies is the class suitable for?
The class is suitable for babies aged six weeks until actively crawling. The reason we wait until babies are six weeks old is more for you, than for the baby. It is best to wait until you have had your six week check from your doctor and had the all clear to exercise. If you have had a C-Section, it is important to wait until your scar is fully healed and has been checked by your doctor.
What if my baby starts crawling during the course?
That is not a problem, I say ‘actively crawling’ as a guide, because once baby is crawling around it can be less relaxing for it’s mama to have to keep hopping up and chasing them. If your baby starts crawling during the course, then please do keep coming! Most babies stay close to their mama anyway, and I am happy to help round up crawlers so their mum can stay relaxed on the mat!
Should I come to class if my baby has had their vaccinations that day?
Yes! However, your baby shouldn’t do the baby yoga section and maybe some of the interactive movement, depending what it is. This is because we need to let babies’ immune systems and bodies process the vaccination and we don’t want to stimulate them with too much movement. They also might have sore areas where the injections went in, so won’t want their limbs moved and handled. Just let me know if your baby has had their vaccinations and I will guide you on what they can do in the class. There is still plenty for you to do!
What if my baby cries during the class?
That is absolutely fine! We are all mums, and we understand that babies cry. Do not worry at all if your baby cries. I find that babies settle better and better the more classes they attend, and even babies who are unsettled at first, are soon watching with wonder. Nonetheless, any baby can have their moments, and if you need to, you can sit, stand, walk around the room, rock your baby and do anything you need to, you will still be absorbing lovely yoga energy!
